Whimsy is such a fun part of my life. I've even loved it in my home decor. So I created a whimsical street scene design that I put on a number of fun home decor items.

Vintage Stripes for Home Decor

The look was beautiful in Gramma's living room. Vintage stripes was what she chose for her wallpaper, then coordinated the curtains and accent pieces around the room. I was in love with that room. When I got the chance to completely redecorate my own living room, that was the effect I wanted.

Oh, yes. I had it completely pictured in my mind. The whole room design. The problem was that I couldn't find those stripes. I could find more modern stripes, I could find vintage designs. What I couldn't find was vintage stripes in a pattern.

Being the resourceful graphic artist that I am, I designed my own. And then made then available on
many different home decor items. Since blue is my favorite color, I started with blue stripes. But, I want one from there. Red, rosey pink, purple, green and yellow all became the basis for vintage stripe patterned home decor.

I am also pleased to announce that these same vintage stripes will soon be available as both fabric and wall paper for your home. In the meantime, the home decor accents are currently ready for you to choose your favorites.

Wall decor is a great place to start. A wall clock makes a good focal point to accent your vintage theme. Then continue with a decorative throw pillow on the couch or chair. Add an accent table lamp along with some small pieces, like a set of beverage coasters.

One of my favorite accents is a serving tray used as the centerpiece on my coffee table. The tray can sit all by itself to serve as a great focal point, but it can also be functional to hold other small pieces that can be moved from place to place. If you have something like a vintage tea set, then arrange that on your vintage serving tray for a striking effect.

Another small accent that I love to include in home decor is a small treasure box. The look of box can add to your vintage home decor theme, but can also be functional to hold those special momentos from occasions in your life.
